Study Training Information

Everything you need to get active with research - GCP certification and training guides for each study.

Getting started

NIHR Standard Training

Good clinical practice (GCP)

GCP is the agreed international standard for conducting clinical research.

Good Clinical Practice Training is required for researchers conducting Clinical Trials of Investigational Medicinal Products (CTIMPs). It ensures that the rights, safety, and wellbeing of trial participants are protected, and that the data generated is credible and reliable.

Everyone who works on delivering Clinical Trials of Investigational Medicinal Products (CTIMP) has to have an up-to-date GCP certificate.

Traumatic pneumothorax · Adult

ComiTED2

There are two tiers of authorisation to recruit to ComiTED2:
Tier 1: For patients who lack capacity to consent to enrollment (and may or may not regain capacity later in their admission)
Tier 2: Patient has capacity to consent

How to get on the delegation logs and recruit patients for each tier:

1 Tier 1: For patients who lack capacity to consent (Please note; patients who appear able to discuss things well, but are under the influence of strong analgesics, are displaying signs of clinical shock; or suffering painful multiple injuries are deemed to lack capacity to consent at the time. They can be enrolled without consent, and will be consented later in their admission.)
